Playing
chase.
Running
circles around the yard.
Peeing
on the lawn mower, or the grill,
in
addition to the trees.
Looking
up to the sky
and
barking
at
the squirrel
they
cannot reach.
My
dogs live in the now.
They
don't worry about tomorrow.
They
don't dwell on what is past.
They
live fully in the moment,
exuberant,
playful, sometimes patient
(expecting,
trusting, believing – not really)
They
are here,
ready,
now.
